We are "independent scholars" in the true sense: independent of grants or other outside funding and using our own money, time, and resources to uncover Chicago’s past, illuminate its present, and to help out various worthwhile organizations attempting to do the same.
We are not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, and constantly plow our incomes back into our projects—because we believe in the importance of the dissemination of knowledge and consider learning to be a sacred quest.
Aside from our own projects relating to the World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago cultural attractions and architecture, and Chicago history, by supporting us you indirectly assist these fine entities:
You won’t receive any tax breaks, t-shirts, or glossy merchandize, but by donating to Brainsnack you assist the cause of learning, not just about Chicago and vicinity, but of all human culture in general. It sounds grandiose, but it’s what we’re about.
Please help us if you can.
